Not much different that here Cubby. We had a high today of 55 mid morning. Now at 7 pm it is 19 with an expected overnight low of around 9 and windchills of -20 to -30.

All afternoon the wind has been a constant 30 mph with frequent gusts near 50 mph and it is not suppose to let up until tomorrow.

Well, this sucks...

Monday afternoon: 42*, I am outside in a sweatshirt and jeans. Stuff is melting like crazy, water all over the place.

Tuesday morning: 15* or so. Everything that melted yesterday is now a solid sheet of ice so school is canceled, plus a front is expected to arrive around noon, temps expected to plummet, so they wanted to keep the kids home rather than have them going home in it. Travel is not advised due to the ice. So naturally, we load up and run into town to grab groceries.

Tuesday 5:00pm: -5*, windchill advisory is now in effect for all of northern MN and NW WI. Windchills run to -25*. Evening classes at the colleges are canceled.

Tuesday 9:00pm: -12*, windchills are hitting -35*, with overnight lows expected to be -20 to -25*, with windchills at -40 to -50* and possibly lower. School is canceled for Wednesday.

They showed a map of the region with the temperature difference from the Monday high to the Tuesday 9:00 temp...50 degree swing in just over 24 hours. :not:

I think I overheard my furnace say "WTF?"

In the 30s right now, but dropping overnight. Surprised that schools weren't delayed this morning -- the wind is awful, with gusts over 50 mph. The kid was a trooper walking out to the bus, though. She never batted an eye, just headed out smiling into sideways winds and pelting sleet. That's my girl!

Wow, that was some of the craziest weather I've ever seen.

Last night around 9pm there was something banging on the house, thought some siding might have come loose but it was the top to the sandbox that got trapped in the corner between the house and deck. So I had to go out there, holy shit was it nasty. Then after that I heard more banging around on the deck, turns out we had a run-away Kozy Koupe, but I wasn't going back out there to secure it.

-18* this morning, the wind is still whipping like a mo-fo.
Windchill estimated at between -35* and -45*
I don't think we'll be playing outside this morning.

Looks like we will get are first accumulating snow of the year tomorrow. Looks like 5-8 inches when all is said and done. Of course last time they called for up to 10 inches we got a light dusting.

If, when I had driven to Rockford this morning, (a journey of just over 100 miles) the weather report had said,
"100% chance of major snowstorm with whiteout conditions when you are driving home!" I would have, at the very least, driven the Subaru Outback. Maybe even considered not going.
But no, the weather report said, "20% chance of light snow," so we decided to drive the Toyota Prius. Not a very wise decision in hindsight. The Prius gets over 50 MPG but is not meant for heavy snow. Oh, it got us home all right and we didn't get stuck, but I would have much rather been driving my family around in the Subaru.

CJ - no kidding. Took the whole family (in 2 cars) to a friends house for the game about 45 minutes away. She took the boys home in the middle of the blizzard and I wondered out loud "was this snow predicted? Because she wouldn't have came if we known....". Needless to say she was not happy driving home.

It's 53 degrees outside right now, and they are calling for some rain showers. Yes, it is 11:48 PM here.

What's this snow stuff you speak of?
