Just finished "The Foundling" during our trip. Incredible story of the author's, Paul Fronczak, life after being mistaken for a child that was kidnapped in Chicago after he was abandoned in New Jersey in the early 60's and returned to the wrong family. Crazy twists and turns and a great look into the world of DNA testing and determining true identities of family trees.

Just finished "Caddyshack, The Making of a Hollywood Cinderella Story" by Chris Nashawaty. Not sure if all of you whippersnappers have seen the 80's flick. The inside story of the movie. By chance a few night's ago I happened upon the movie on TV and after leaning about what really was going on during the making of the film I found myself laughing even harder than I usually do when watching it. Can't wait to see it bumper to bumper again. I especially want to see the movie's writer doing a real line of cocaine in the background during the members party scene when Rodney Dangerfield is offending everything that moves. If you like the movie you will love the book. Great casual summer read.

Just finished "The Black Hand" by Stephan Talty. It was about a mostly forgotten time in the very early 1900's when Italian immigrants from Southern Italy were tormenting thousands of people with extortion and kidnapping of childrenmostly in cities like NY and Chicago. It took 15 years to get it under control lead by Italian immigrant Joe Petrosino (who was killed for his efforts).

Bump! The fine folks in California might want to put this book on their reading list. They could have made things much better. I hope things settle down there quickly.

So I'm reading the second greatest book ever written, again. Because my memory sucks. Herman Melvilles Moby Dick. Also turns out it was still in my kindle. I needed something to read.
Anyway, this time I'm using my Porky Pig voice just to keep it interesting.

Although now that I think of it some more. When I'm alone (and there's only one time when a stay at home dad is truly alone)
I sometimes do read out loud... And the kid is like, "dad, who you talking to in there?"

Just finished "The Escape Artists" by Neal Bascomb. It is about the true story of a POW camp escape in Germany during WWI. 29 prisoners, mostly English, spent 9 months digging a rat hole under ground to escape one of the worst POW camps in Germany. 10 made it over the boarder to Holland some 150 miles away.
