Monday is Memorial Day and weíre having people over. I bought a table for the patio that barely fit in the van so I have to buy the chairs today. While I was putting the table together I noticed that weeds have really taken off. I donít really have time to get that all sorted out though so Iíll pull what I can.

After usual chores this morning I spent a couple of hard hours in the sun and heat reseeding and thatching an area the dogs use for the winter pee pad. I should have done it already but things piling up. Floated in the pool for a while. Going to 4:30 mas then home and watch some golf before going out to an Italian restaurant with friends.

Drove back and forth to Ling Island yesterday to visit my in laws who are ailing a little bit with hip issues. NN traffic either way! Only good thing about rainy holidays.

I am now sitting alone in town waiting for the Memorial Day parade to start in. They have been cancelled the last 2 years due to weather issues. Overcast but no rain. Hope they still the flyovers! I am in position A! Marky loves a parade!

UHG! No flyover. Guess the clouds were too low. Whatcha going to do?

I had to shake my head when the first car that opened up the parade with 2 older former Vets in full dress uniforms was a kinda of pedestrian and tired looking convertible Mazda Miata! WTF?! Were not these fellas fighting a war in the Pacific Rim about 50-60 years ago? I might have to offer up the Mustang next year.

That certainly sounds like a nice little holiday for you! Just having a few moments to yourself to do whatever you feel like without some claim on your time is the absolute best.

Saturday we went to a nearby cidery for a festival that they were having. The kids had a great day - they had lots of activities for them, and a whole staff of people just keeping them occupied so the wife and I got to enjoy a couple adult beverages, sit, relax, and listen to the bands.

Sunday was just a lazy day at home. It was raining off and on so we didnít do all that much, but it was just wanted we needed.

Monday was the Memorial Day parade for our small town. Our oldest marched in it with his Cub Scout pack. This year they did a much better job of holding their banner high and keeping it straight. Still work to do, but man, so much better than the last parade. Then it was grilling burgers and chilling on the deck.

Home alone with the dogs tonight. Wife is going away for the weekend with girlfriends. Kids will be back tomorrow. I hope I will not end up in the Embriotic position after the Mets/Yankees series this weekend. Lets go Mets!

After deciding 2 years ago that my son wanted to not have a High School graduation party and go on a family vacation with another family that are friends of ours instead we are now having a graduation party Saturday with somewhere between 35 and 45 guests, with some sleeping over. I have been running around just about every day this week chipping away at party needs along with the usual day to day stuff. Looks like Father's Day will be a day of cleaning up post party for this guy. UHG!
