Just finished "The Lufthansa Heist" by Daniel Simone and non other than Henry Hill himself. Luckily the book was put together before his death. Kind of a deeper behind the scenes story of the movie 'Goodfellas". If you liked that movie you might want to check out this book. Can't wait to see the movie again now that I have a better knowledge of all the characters and back stories involved.

Just finished "Why kids fail" by John Holt. He points out what's wrong with the public and private school system on a national level.
I read the revised edition circa 1982. Same problems in 1962 exist in 1982 and 2015.
Too many kids in a class, archaic ways of teaching, etc.

Just finished "how kids learn", by John Holt. He wrote of his professional experiences in a private school as an educator, and class observer. What did not work, and what does work.

Just finished "The Train To Crystal City" by Jan Russell, the true story of one of the many internment camps FDR set up across the country to house Japanese, German and Italian immigrants during WWII. Crystal City TX was the family location. Thousands of legal and non American immigrants were taken against their will and housed for years during the wall losing all they had accumulated prior. Many were used for secret prisoner exchanges between the countries involved in the war.

My reading list isn't so sophisticated. I just finished reading "The Martian" by Andy Weir. I wanted to read it before I saw the movie because I hate Matt Damon.

First heavy wet snow around turkey day. March looks frightening. Pretty effed up winter coming. Again!

Just picked up a copy of "The church supper cookbook" a collection of over 400 potluck recipes from families and churches across the country at a book swap!

Seriously salivating just looking it over. We gonna be eating good.
