Default This section seems dead, does it need a revival?

If so maybe I should try and be constructive about it, huh? I'm getting sick of complaining and you guys are probably tired of it too.

Anyway, for the past few years I've been packing on the pounds. Right now I'm around 205 and wearing a size 38 waist. I'm not sleeping as much as I should - though part of the reason is the midnight wakings - and I'm having LOTS of aches and pains, mostly in my feet and ankles. Mentally, I could concentrating better and my memory is shot - again probably because of the sleep deprivation. Regardless, the motivation to exercise or eat right is at an all-time low.

As you know, lately a relative has challenged me to put my autistic son on a special restrictive diet. Though I've talked it up here I'm loathe to do it but now I'm thinking that maybe I need to go on it - and exercise more too. Maybe that will get back some of that mojo.

So the plan for now is to cut back on the sweets, cook more (where I can control ingredients though I'll have to be diligent about reducing portions) and go to the gym 2-3X a week and actually use the membership.

I keep thinking about starting at the gym. I have a membership, but it's the last thing I think of in the morning when I drop my girl off at school. I just need to buckle down and do it.

I'm at a 34" waist, 6'2" and hover between 195-200 lbs. Got more pounds than I want really. I don't mind being at 190 or even 195, but want it to be all muscle. I'm overall pretty good aside from my Molson muscle.

Been going to the gym at work 2-4 times a week the last couple of months but not seeing much results yet. The problem is I haven't changed my horrible eating habits.
Good luck Kwak.

Guys the workouts are easier when the kids get older, trust me. Schlepping kids around get exhausting after a while. When the kids get older there is more delegating so that leaves more energy and time for workouts. 35" waist at 212-215 lbs.

This made look back at the old weight loss threads from a few years back. Holy crap. Four years ago I was in the 250 plus range (before that I was much much heavier), now I am about 229. Most of that was changing the way I eat. I can't say I have exercised a ton, because I am really inconsistent with that.

Lately, I come home from work 3 to 4 nights a week at 1030pm and eat a Mama celeste pizza for 1 and have a 24 oz Red stripe, and go to bed.
Put on 10 pounds over the winter.
In the warm seasons we would walk around the lake a few times a week, singing silly songs the whole time.
I'm gonna drop the "MIDRATS"- late night pizza. I'll make it my lunch, btwn 1-2pm, and still eat my regular sandwich at work around 7pm.
One of my long standing healthy living rules is not to eat after 7pm.
I guess I been breaking it and Shaboom-up goes my weight.

5 ft 8- 173 lbs
Gonna drop 10 lbs. by summer, get my beach body back.

We have put together a pretty nice home gym. All I have to do is walk down the steps... My knee is healed from the meniscus surgery, no excuses...

6'4" 212lbs not ideal. Happiest at 190-195.

My wife on the other hand has dropped 50 lbs since #13 was born in September. Mostly through diet change. Reduced carbs, lots of fruits and veggis.

Summer is coming up fast and dirt bike riding season is upon me... No more excuses.

Wife recently bought a treadmill with the bells and wissles, so I typically walk 2-3 miles a week on that plus do some general free weights, current weight is 158.

I'm looking forward to hitting the gym after lunch. I'm gonna want to hit the whirlpool though. It won't give me much time to do dinner prep though.

See what I mean?
I just went downstairs to the gym and worked up a nice sweat. After a shower I came back up and ate a bigass burrito for lunch. Good grief.
