Seriously how do you guys hear about this crap? I'd never heard of either of these before......
I know a guy ;-) Or if you ever scan the channels Sunday morning, they all have infomercials.

My brother jumped right into insanity, he was 350lbs. I think he lost 50lbs since he started.

Most of those tv workouts are fine for first timers. They are based on doing the movements, sticking to a diet and the workouts.

I do believe p90x is a bit easier, but I refuse to do yogaX for 1.5 hours. That shit bores me to death.

TRUTH! I used to make it through the first 45 minutes, but I ditched the balance part.

Did P90X full 90 days once, with the diet - about two years ago. Went from 190 to 170 and added a ton of muscle. Wife loved it... until about ten months later after doing nothing I reverted to my old self.

I don't sleep much and you see lot's of crap on late night informercials.

I'd be thrilled if I could stick with it long enough to see 200 again. It's been awhile.

Is there a way to do that workout but gain or at least maintain instead?

In my opinion, no. The workouts burn a shit load of calories and meant for weight loss/sculpting of your body.

You will need to take in a lot of protein, maybe do some working out with heavier weights to bulk up.

Agree with this - during the full cycle I did, I was supplementing with a Whey Protein which helped. If you follow the diet, there are three phases which give guidelines on how many servings of protein, carbs, fruits, etc. to have a day. Front-end is heavily loaded to weight-loss (low carb, high protein) so maybe you can modify to maintain as opposed to lose.

LOL. My sentiments exactly.

I dunno how you guys can find the motivation to work out at such a high intensity, by yourself, with some 2D guy yelling at you through a screen. Props.
