It never seems to stop raining in this part of south jersey. I think we have had one day this week without rain.

6" of icy snow today. Kid got out early. Took them outside, and the young one put up with it for about 5 minutes. I took the older one sleeding, then snowshoeing, then xcountry skiing. Fun afternoon.

-19* with a 7 mph wind, whatever windchill that is. Pretty harsh when it's that cold, and it's windy. School's closing for weather? What's that? Hasn't happened here since we started school 5 years ago. Guaranteed the teachers are having a drink tonight though, first of vacation, after no recess for 2 weeks. They don't go outside only if it's below zero. You could see that look of .

Last night we had freezing rain for about 6 hours before it turned to rain. This is the 4th time this month we have had an ice storm here, and there is a good chance we have 2 more ice events between now an Christmas day. I am so sick of the ice I could scream.

I would rather deal with two feet of snow than the 1/4 inch of ice we get with each of these events.

Compared to you guys, we got nothing here. One guy in my wife's office was whimpering out of the office before lunch. My wife's boss (also a woman) wanted to leave a skirt on his chair (but she feared the potential HR ramifications). Wife and her were on a conference call later and they asked where so & so went. They all had a good laugh as my wife is 6 months pregnant and not even breaking a sweat about it.

We had rain today. Some snow up north.

16* with about 10" of the white stuff on the ground. Cleared the driveway late last night so I'd be snowblowing and not iceblowing. The neighbors are going to regret waiting...they've got a long day ahead of chiseling out!

Ian is already super-excited to go play outside. We're going to invite neighborhood kids over for snowmen building, snowball lobbing and then inside to warm up by the fire with hot chocolate.
