Well...The Brewers pushed it to game 161 before being eliminated. Pretty good season for a team with a $60 million payroll that wasn't expected to contend for at least another 2-3 years. That said, I fear a regression next year. A makeshift starting rotation of pitchers that would slot in the 3-5 spots on most contending rotations pitched like aces for stretches. Hell, Zack Davies was on the verge of leading the league in wins before two mediocre start to end the year. He, Jimmy Nelson, and Chase Anderson will be hold overs to next year. Then it's anybody's guess. Players like Eric Thames, Travis Shaw, and the catchers surprised with great years. Domingo Santana had a career year. Not totally sure we can expect the same next year. Craig Counsell should be manager of the year but realistically will probably finish 4th or 5th. Dave Roberts, Torey Lovullo, Joe Madden, Dusty Baker, and Bud Black will all get greater consideration even though Counsell did more with less than any of them. If you have a $300M payroll, are expected to run away with the division, and run away with the division....is that MOY worthy? Probably not, but that's the way it goes.

I must admit it was fun watching the Yanks, and their manager, spit the bit last night in an epic loss to go down 2-0 to the Indians. I DVR's the game at 5 and went to my son's football game. caught up after the football game. The game went so late most people missed most of the later Cubs/Nats game. Nice job by the Cubs too!!

At this point I'm rooting for a Dodgers/Yankees series. Rekindle the Brooklyn/Bronx rivalry. Then they can show all the pregame highlights of old Dodgers/Yankees matchups. I love that stuff! In the end though...Anyone but the sCrUBS!

Yanks are my last team on my sniper list. After that I do not care. I guess I did not factor in the Cleveland choke history last round. Lets go Stros!

I'm completely disinterested. I was invested in the Pirates, but when they imploded and ownership started making excuses for being miserly b@$+@r&$ I remembered why I lost interest in baseball 30 years ago: it's not an even playing field, the players are either soft or cheats, and the owners trade players like Topps playing cards - maybe even treat them a little worse.
