Personally, I think that the Yankees grooming policy is an antiquity that illustrates how players in the MLB are treated like bubble gum trading cards - even those that are signing for $1/4B career long contract.

GBdad, if George pointed the the NYC East River chances are the guy could have walked across it no problem.

I love all these sports fans go gaga when they sign a record breaking contract on a player. Guess what!? Tickets AND your cable bill will be going up. No wonder why most people can't afford to go to games anymore.

So the Yanikes put a Nike swoosh on their jerseys. Nice sell out! So much for Yankee org purists. Bring on the sideburns and mullets!

That's part of the agreement between Nike and MLB. All teams will have the Swoosh prominently on the front. I remember when New Era put their flag logo on the left side of the caps. Yankees fans threw a fit over that too.

I am thinking no on that one. Authentic NY Yankee Cole jerseys are now listed at $360!

Still kind of funny how the article kind of makes it sound like the Yankees were behind the decision to put the Nike logo on the front. Here's a picture of all MLB jerseys for 2020, all with the Swoosh on the front right chest. The Padres going back to brown is dreadful.

But since MLB shares all merchandise revenue evenly among all teams I hope they sell a TON of $400 Cole jerseys!

Brew Crew extends Craig Counsell's contract through 2023. The only surprise here is that it wasn't though 2025.
