And just minutes ago and yet another outfielder for the Metropolitans, Cespades, blew out a calf running from second to home on what should have been a run scoring base hit up the middle but was called dead because a spastic ump could not get out of the way of the ball. Even I have never seen anything like this season in any team I have rooted for.

And it is freaky stuff too! Just yesterday Jose Reyes batting lefty on one of the first few pitches of the game fouled a ball off his right foot and then it ricocheted to his balls. He was hurting and looked like he just wanted to strike out and take a seat on the bench. He walked and had to skip down to first base like he had to hold in a huge dump. He was OK later on. It never ends.

Pretty annoyed....Had a ticket to the Brewers/Cubs game on Saturday, September 23, 6:10 first pitch. I specifically requested a morning shift at my part time job tour guiding at Lambeau Field so I could make it to Milwaukee for the game. And with the Brewers and Cubs battling for the NL Central, the rivalry with all the folks coming up from Chicago, it was going to be a good one.

After ignoring the Brewers all damn year, even though they spent the entire first half in first place, FOX decides this game needs to be a nationally televised noon start. The day before a Packers home game is crazy busy and there's simply no switching of schedules, or anyone to switch with for that matter.

As I work until 1:00 I'm SOL! Ticket went up for sale on StubHub this morning. Hopefully it sells so I can at least make a little money.

Going to the Cubs/Cardinals game at Wrigley on Saturday. We'll be in Chicago for my wife's conference. Since I wish they could both lose, I'll be an impartial observer.

How about the Tribe, boys? For being a city that has been hard on its luck with regards to football, the Indians' ownership should have its counterparts in the Pittsburgh market (who have continually made the excuse that they can't afford it because Pittsburgh is a small market and doesn't draw the crowds) eating crow.

Seriously, the Pirates ownership has been downright miserly with payroll and are basically being handed money by the league and footing the local population the bill for PNC Park, which was acquired by the city in an imminent domain land grab. Cutch might be getting old but he signed his current contract at a discount to the club and frankly he's due. If he gets traded in the offseason I might be putting all my Pirates swag in a box. I'll be damned if I root for Cleveland or another NL Central team though.

That sucks GBDad. ESPN hosed Mets fans a few weeks ago by switching a 1:30 Sunday start against the Dodgers to an 8:20 PM start. What fun for those folks. Nothing like getting home at 1:00 AM or so Monday morning after watching the Mets get beat up by the Dodgers.

Tough stretch for my Brew Crew. Four straight extra inning games, losing 3 of them. Lost 3 of 4 at home to the Cubs when they realistically needed to win 3 of 4 to stay in the race. 5.5 GB with 6 to play. On to the Wild Card. Need to win 5 of last 6 and have the Rockies go 3-3 to tie and play a 1 game playoff in Denver.

Long shot at best, but anything can happen!

I thought the Pirates dashed the Brewers' hopes? Not that I'm proud of it. At this point the Bucs might as well shoot the moon and let the Reds pass 'em by.
