Update:
She ordered generator, transfer switch and extra warranty an called propane company to inspect/ install gas propane to fireplace.
Tropical storm headed to Fla. freaked her out.

In other news: no mice since we went for that "drive."

Why is your wife freaking out over a storm in Florida? You’re 1000 miles away and up in the mountains?

Here’s what we did when I was growing up. Stock up on candles and kerosene. Fill up the bath tub with water, make lots of ice and only open the refrigerator door if you needed something. For entertainment we had board games and guitar.

The weather man starts out saying 3-6 inches of snow. No big deal. When it's done its 2 feet and the power is out for 5 days. No heat. Even if we had propane, there's switch on the wall. Ridiculous.
Oh we got dumped on 4 times in March. Lost power. Twice for like 9 days. 2G in hotel.
Mom was stuck in Bergen county(and had to get a hotel) and Pippa and I were at home with no power. Pippa and I had to sleep together in parkas and gloves, in the morning inside temp was 50 and we get rescued out, taken to Bergen county hotel. Roads a mess. Power poles trees down everywhere.
I believe it was necessary.
(Watch-we'll never lose power again)

^ Exactly.

Summers in the Poconos are mild; typically the tourists from Jersey are the only ones to notice that they’re outside the comforts of the I-95 Metroplex.

Effin mice are back.
Swept the garage. Baited the traps with cheese. Shredded mozzarella first, since Pippa spilt a bunch on the floor in the kitchen.
Moved the traps around too. Wifey agreed to buying the "yellow snappies" next trip to the store!

I use peanut butter. Never fails. Got two and no sign of any other activity.

I'll second the peanut butter. I add a chunk of dog food to the middle to sweeten the deal.

I swear the mice are laughing at me.
I put Pb in the bait door in the back, and cheese in the entry door. The Pb never worked. They are eating the cheese, pooping all around, and going into hiding. One had the nerve to poop on the hood of my truck!
It's these stupid traps you have to walk into. They won't go in them.
Wifey hasn't bought the yellow snappies yet.

Irie, you reminded me of the Married With Children episode when Al Bundy basically destroyed his house trying to find and kill one mouse.

Btw, I use the plastic easy press and set type of traps with good results.
