We're dealing with the remnants of Gordon as well, and word is that another hurricane is bearing down on the Carolinas. I'd say it's time to go to Hawaii, but they're not doing too good either.

Sorry, could't resist. I know that they've had some really bad weather and volcanic eruptions and whatnot.

The good news about the rain is that the BMW tourney was rained out yesterday so I get to watch golf today while doing my Monday chores!

Beautiful day here today but BIG question mark heading into the weekend. My area is in a "Mandatory" evacuation zone in Virginia but as of right now we aren't heading out. Forecast is keeping everything just south of us minus the rain. But if we go inland they are going to get just as much if not more rain. Playing the wait and see game right now.

Nice job by the Meteorologists who predicted the Florence storm track. Could they have been more wrong? Of course the Carolinas got a lot of rain but still. Yesterday we were told locally that it would be a crazy car wash here. Most of the storm is far North of us. That is good news for me since I was getting the pool closed today and had cleaned it out yesterday. But still. When was the last time a weather person got fired for being so wrong?

So much for mowing and fertilizing the lawn today. It is raining steadily today. Very gloomy and depressing.

Rain, rain, rain.... but we have needed it. The summer was a little too hot and dry for TN. A cool front is moving in this afternoon, though. We should be in the high 50's in the morning.

It's a warm, wet, foggy, 60, at sunrise. Mid 70's today with wicked storms coming from the west later this afternoon. The same front that brought tornados to Il and IA yesterday. We been warned to stay close to our radios for the latest local reports.
