Good luck Moviedad....stick with it and keep reminding yourself why you're doing it.

My progress is going well. My transitioning back into running consistantly went well, with a minor hiccup, but all is well. 'official' training started last week, although I've been running consistantly again since nov/dec.

I have already received several compliments about how it looks like I'm losing weight and getting back in shape. So as long as I stick to my training program, I'm golden.

Thanks CTDon.

I was a runner, a looooong time ago. I enjoyed running BEFORE I was in the ARMY then they made it un-fun. I am trying to get to that point again, just have to wait until my weight will not cause damage to my knees.

Good luck and keep up the fine work.

So contrary to what you would think, you don't actually lose any weight by eating whatever you want on a cruise.

Who'd have thunk it?

Should I walk around mumbling things in a sailor suit with one eye closed as well?

5K today. 1st one in several months. 30:52. Slow, but I did run the entire time. Everytime I get into a good groove at the gym, one of the little kids gets sick and by the time it goes through the whole family I am starting from scratch... Oh Well. On the bright side, I am still under 200 lbs, not by much, but I am under...

Experiencing a bit of diet backlash from the wife. I finally am getting serious about eating better to go along with exercise and the wife is giving me some attitude. I think it's definitely a motivation issue with her since, honestly, she needs to lose more weight than I do. In the past two weeks since I've been summoning up massive amounts of willpower to not each a lot of junk and quit my Dew habit, she has made a pie, bought ingredients to make a cheesecake, and just bought 24 (yes, 24) boxes of Girl Scout cookies. She normally only buys 2-4 a year.

To go with the increase of crap food in the house, she's been giving me some attitude. This morning she said she was surprised I didn't dig into the thin mint cookies. I said it took a lot of willpower to walk past them all day and she rolls her eyes at me like I'm being a jerk for that and for not eating more than 1 piece of the pie she made Sunday.

Have any of you experienced this backlash? I'm hoping that if I can keep cooking decent meals and eating better that she will follow suit after a while. I haven't said a word about her weight/health or tried to get her to exercise more, etc. I know women have a lot more psychological baggage with weight issues, so I've been keeping my mouth shut. At the same time it pisses me off because I'm trying to do something good.
