Bump!

Just had my 3rd donation today since getting back in the game. People are always looking of things to do to help out when bad news comes along like it has in the last week. Donating blood wherever you are should be on your short list of ways to help.

Disclosure, A a week ago today I was kicked out of the blood bank due to "high blood pressure". They could not get a reading on the lower end below 100 which is mandatory. That was a first for me. I went home disgruntled and checked it myself. It was not it's best but not near what the nurse at the blood bank was getting. I figured I would wait a week and try again before calling the Dr. Today I had a reading of 126/84!! No way it as high as they said last week.

Oh....never been. You get nervous doing that? Your poor wife. Have you tried that little blue pill? I've heard that can help.

This.

I have AB+ blood and they would call like clockwork for my blood, and then they changed their questions and one came up about living in Europe in the 80's or 90's and I got on the "cannot donate" list.

Got an appointment for the 27th. First time in close to 20 years. I donated one time when I was 19 and my entire arm turned splotchy green and purple. Said I'd never do it again but what the heck, I'll give it another shot.

Attaboy! Things have changed for the better in the donation process since your last donation. They don't use leeches as much for one. The tape on the arm afterward is still my biggest issue. Yesterday I also got a Stanley 4 head interchangeable screw driver as a parting gift.

The gift was a first for me. Cookies and juice are standard issue here as well. They did have Olive Garden catered food when I went a few months ago. Hit or miss I guess.

They're having a blood drive at work so we get signed(by the coach) Colts footballs for donating.
