Congrats to the Nats! Good game last night. Zach Grienke deserved a better fate. Pitched lights out for 7.1 innings. Good series overall. First time in major professional sports history that the road team has won every game in a 7 game series. So much for home field advantage!

Easy Skippy. They are Talking about an entire starting staff. This ain't cherry picking. I think the Mets are still paying Oliver Perez.

So I guess someone pointed a finger at the Rangers and my very own Milwaukee Brewers as other teams that have engaged in illegal sign stealing. Of course Cubs fans are having a field day with that. Yu Darvish even jumped into the mix after a Chicago Bleacher Nation writer said he looked a Darvish's start in Milwaukee from last season and saw Christian Yelich's eyes move before Darvish backed off to get another sign. Further points out that the Brewers bullpen at Miller Park is in left field. Which is true. Problem is....if you watch the video, Yelich moves his eyes to right field. Whatever. Typical Chicago.

So Darvish jumps in and says, "I'm not sure what he's trying to do. But to be clear his eyes move first. That's why I step off."

To which Yelich responds, "Be better than this. No one needs help facing you."

BOOM!!!

Ouch!

Of course the holier than the NY Yankees are saying they were robbed this year. They have been sitting Shiva since they were knocked out wondering how this could happen. Sorry Yanks. You were overrated .

Had a feeling that the Brewers were going to revamp their uniforms for their upcoming 50th Season. Always had mixed feelings on the "Ball-In-Glove" logo. Represents the teams of my youth but always felt it looked a little cartoonish. But most people absolutely love it and have been clamoring for it to come back since it went away 25 years ago. Been using it as an "alternate" since 2006.
Figured it would be coming back on a full time basis. Only things I didn't want was going back to royal blue and pinstripes. Unless you're the Yankees, you shouldn't be in pinstripes. Kept the navy blue and pinstripes are only on the Friday throwback uniforms.

But the new unis are SWEET!

Not going to take for granted that everyone knows this, and the first time you realize it, it blows your mind hole....The Brewers glove logo is a lower case M and B put together to form a baseball glove. If you didn't already know....that sound you just heard is your mind exploding. Ryan Braun said he was with the organization several years before he realized it.

Why "cream" for the home uniforms. Milwaukee is known as "The Cream City." Nothing to do with cheese or dairy. Many of the early buildings in Milwaukee were built of cream colored bricks that were fired from the cream colored clay that is prominent in Southeast WI.

Yankees DFAd Greg Bird. I want him in a Brewers uniform ASAP!!! Brewers traded Jesus Aguilar to the Rays midway through last year due to lack of productivity and then inexplicably declined a $7.5M option on Eric Thames.

Bird was considered a better prospect than either Aaron Judge or Gary Sanchez. He can be had on the cheap. Either throw the Yankees a couple mid level pitching prospects in a trade or if he declines an assignment to AAA sign him for one year $3M. All we hear in the Midwest is "how hard it is to play in New York." "You don't understand." "It takes a special player to excel in New York." Blah....blah....blah.....blah....blah!

Well, maybe he's just a regular guy who doesn't need the "big city" exposure and I'm willing to take the risk that getting away from the "bright lights" and going to a minor league-ish town like Milwaukee if just what he needs to realize his potential. Look at any minor league season where he's had more than 300 AB and he's done quite well. In the neighborhood of .280AVG/15HR/70RBI. I'd take that.

Get it done Stearns! You aren't going to sign a big FA first baseman and there really aren't many available anyway. You declined on Thames. And there's really no viable option in the minors.

Good to hear there’s still passion in the NL central. The Pirates named their new GM who was the guy who helped the Red Sox get to the World Series - only to get canned the next year. He’s been in Toronto since, another “big market”. We’ll see how he does working for a tightwad owner.

GBDad, you don't want Bird. The guy is beyond injury prone. He had a Yankee stadium swing with the short porch in right. Ya want a cheap player? How about former Yankee Jacoby Elsbury?! He is getting $26,000,000 from the Yanks to go away the next 2 years.
