Just finished "The Flying Tigers" by Sam Kleiner. The true story of what is more commonly known as the "Black Sheep Squadron". A group of supposedly secret pilots defending China against the Japanese prior to the USA entering war against Japan. It was very sad that the guy who ran it, Claire Chennault, was pushed out of his position just a few weeks before the Japanese surrendered and he never really got his due credit.

Over vacation I finished "My Father's Wake" by Kevin Toolis. I know, kind of strange book beach side but I was halfway through it before we left. It is a look into the old school traditional wake in rural Ireland that still goes on today. The whole process is so different from what the author called the Western Mourning Machine.

Just finished "Unholy Messenger" by Stephen Singular. The story about BTK, the serial killer from Wichita KS that was chased for over 3 decades. Only his mistake got him caught.

Just finished "Man Overboard" by Joan Lownds. It is the true story of a honeymoon murder of a groom on a cruise ship. It took place in the earlier 2000's and I remember hearing about it on the news. The couple were locals here and that is why I picked it up. They never found the grooms body and never got to the bottom of what happened but many cruise ship rules were changed due the the groom's family pushing the story. The bride took a million dollar plus payoff from the cruise line and faded away. Hmmm.

FINALLY just finished "The Vagabonds" by Jeff Guinn. It tells the story of annual auto camping trips taken by Henry Ford, Thomas Edison and Harvey Firestone over a 10 (mid teens to mid 20's in the early 1900's) year span. Seemed like it was half vacationing and half marketing. Lots of great side stories.

First lessons in Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphs by Isabella DeCarlo.

Because those ancient Egyptians had so much to say.

"The Lost City of the Monkey God" by Douglas Preston. An interesting read, especially when you see many of the expedition members on the Nat Geo channel.

Some of the members got Leishmaniasis. Scary stuff.
