Chilling today.
Took a good look at my 3 masted schooner S.I.B. That's still in dry dock. I was ready to drive her into the bottle, whenever I get the ocean materials.
The lines look loose.
The hull looked ratty.
It just looked like a first attempt. So, I cut the rigging, sanded the paint, removed and threw out the sails. Gonna re-drill the mast holes and re-rig her. Gonna paint the hull again too.
I got all summer. Why rush.

Talking to social workers and nurses about my mixed up kid. Some mail came that makes me think I might want to be calling my lawyer about his long term well being.

Pulled all the chairs out of the dining room and stuff from the corners. (It's also my wife's office). Seems no body puts anything away. Just hang it on a chair, toss it in a corner. Swept the downstairs and mopped the dining room.
Put it all back, wiped handprints off some walls. That's enough. Besides the "dad can I haves?"

In the last few days......I posted in another thread about my appliance problems. Ice Maker - Used hair dryer to blow hot air into the unit for about 5 minutes. Restarted, works. Figured it was just frosted over. Dryer - figured out from error code that it was the electronic control board. Neighbor took it apart in hopes that he could solder it. Nope, totally blown. Ordered a new board on Amazon, installed, now works. Dishwasher - wouldn't progress to the dry cycle. Error code said it was a vent that gets stuck in the open position. Won't let the cycle continue. Got a new vent/fan at a local appliance parts store. Installed, works.

Never been much of a DIYer. But as easy as error codes, Amazon, and YouTube make it to do the work yourself I've saved a ton of money in service calls, marked up parts, or new appliances in the last couple years.

That has been my savior on many occasions, too. repairclinic.com is also a good resource for videos and hard to find parts.
