I went for a walk around the neighborhood with my wife and enjoyed a very windy and warm day. Afterward, I took the cue I saw from other people throughout the neighborhood and washed both vehicles. I noticed that there was a notable amount of pollen on my wife's car, which was the first one I'd washed. Both were covered with sawdust.
Looking forward, my wife wants me to hang French double doors in the entrance to the parlor. She's adopted it as her home office and has started "redecorating" it. I kind of miss the time when she was completely indifferent. I was intended on using it as a "picking parlor" where I could play without having to compete with the television. The doors would be mutually beneficial but I was looking forward to being able to leave my guitar and microphone stand set up. Now there's a desk and wall art on order. I was hoping to hang photos of famous musicians and maybe some "guitar porn." The big problem is that it's directly above the garage where I use my power tools. That's because she's always on conference calls and I basically have to be outside if I want to make any noise. While this was not as much of an issue when she was holed up in the dining room it would be now - even if I were to move out into the driveway.

My Dad and I got the trampoline together. The kids love it. Now, I've got a sunshade/cover on order to hopefully keep some of the leaves and squirrels out.

Had an annoying clicking noise coming from the left side of one of my bikes. Only happened on the down stroke of the left pedal. Removed the left crank arm, tightened the bottom bracket, cleaned and greased the spindle, changed pedals......Voila! Clicking gone. $120 in bike shop. Free to me!

True. I got a set for Christmas five years or so ago. But have to say they have probably paid for themselves at least twice over already not having to take bikes in for what really is a quick fix for most things. Plus I enjoy doing doing it. Have fixed a number of neighbors' bikes too.

Took my 15 year old Beagle who is not feeling great to the Vet. $650 later they will call me back tomorrow with blood work results.
Finally ran my snow blower dry. I actually had to buy and use a baster to get a lot of the fuel out of the tank. I put the fuel in mid December assuming that I would definitely use it again after using it then. Boy was I wrong and very happy about it! Had a baseball catch with my almost 21 year old son before dinner. Good times. It helped me get over the dog's vet bill.

I put my shoes on early this morning to retrieve the kids' little 6/7-foot trampoline from the woods. We had a fairly intense storm last night that picked it up and rolled it about 50 yards into the trees. The side netting is ripped in places and the frame is a little bent. The damage at least saves me from having to post it on craigslist. Now I can trash/recycle it.
Now I just have to get rid of the current swing set and replace it. I'm thinking of hanging a beam between two large oaks on a couple large lag screws. We'll see.

I've always taken pictures of my projects but at the same time I've also taken short videos. Lately, I've decided to stitch them together in iMovie, edit out or speed up all the slow parts, add some royalty free background music and upload it to Instagram or YouTube. People are bored so what they heck? |
