During coffee, I found this gr8 film on the bottled shipwrights forums.
If I only had as much enthusiasm as this guy. He's old, funny, and passionate passionate about the craft.
Do you got 26 minutes?

For some reason the plugin isn't loading on my PC. It must be this old POS laptop but I'll try and give it a look-see this morning.

I noticed that the man is Canadian. Lutherie has been my thing and I've long admired Canadian luthiers. Recently I discovered that photographer Peter McKinnon's elderly father Monty is a small independent luthier. His son has been giving him pointers on the whole YouTube thing. He's got a palsy so his hands shake and he tends to ramble but he's been putting out videos of a build he's doing every couple of days.

I give him credit for wanting to do something that leaves a sort of legacy.

I did school, washed a couple loads of laundry at same time, washed piggies floor liner, and play pen towels, and started putting the Enterprise in the bottle.

Last night I glued the mount inside and this morning I went to build on to that, and it come undone. WTF???
Switched adhesive to superglue. Wouldn't bond either. Figured it must be the materials don't jive. Switched to cork. Hour later, a touch test says she's sticking. Tube of adhesive says 24 hours for complete bond. A finish nail needs to go in this cork. I started the hole. Ship sits on it. Ship is in 4 pieces, it's being built on this nail on a cork thing. Has to have a really good bond to the glass.
We'll see tomorrow.

I've used Photobucket and Flickr to host my files so that I can link to them. Both have grumbled to clients that they are losing money with free hosting. I'll have to start making use of my cloud drive since my laptop is showing its age.

Anyway, yesterday I washed Joey's bedding (sheets, mattress pad, comforter, blankets - even the pillows) because he's entering puberty. I don't want to guess why his room is so musky but tossing the pillows in the washing machine helped - and it fluffed them up nicely too. I must all the dead mites.

Meanwhile, I also started on the replacement niche for Kelly's medicine cabinet. It turns out that the alcove for hers is deeper than mine. I need to go back to the lumber yard. She wants to put tiles in the back of it too. Since she doesn't seem to be in any sort of rush picking them out I'm going to probably do it for her.

I did school. Put the fuselage of the Enterprise in the bottle, washed a load of laundry, snuck out to Target and HD, (but Pippa can't keep a secret, so I got busted), and I vacuumed the downstairs.
Before you know it, time to make dinner.
After the girls went to bed, I found Star Trek, the movie , 2009, on the idiot box and fell asleep on the couch watching it. That one was so effen boring.

Supervised school.
Managed to get one strut and one engine on the Enterprise. Only took 3 hrs of messing around inside the bottle. Not wanting to push my luck and lose my mind from frustration, I decided that was enough progress for today.

Mopped the kitchen floor, small dining room, little bathroom floor.

Both struts and engines attached to fuselage, inside the bottle. One was higher than the other. While darn thing had to come out and piece measured and trimmed and put back in and reattached. An all day fiasco.

Taking a 48 hr break to let adhesive harden really good. Next step is huge-- the disk is going in.

5 loads of laundry, dropped off dry cleaning, picked up dry cleaning, food shopping (what fun 2 days before Christmas), baked and yet another 2 trays of brownies, ironed clothes for all for our trek to LI for Christmas, trip to CVS to pick up meds for the family and made a trip to the bank. Beer me!
