That's when you stand aside and keep your voice even. Let the kids cry it out. If they get violent, then you scoop them up and duck the blows and get the heck out of Dodge. It's all you can do.

It's all about how you react and handle the situation. You have 2 or 3 older ones and they really shouldn't be any trouble. Just the younger 2. That shouldn't be too bad. MM on here has about 17 kids I think and he does fine. Just needs a school bus to get them around, but other than that he's okay.

I'd have put that woman in her place unless my kids were unruly. I keep mine in line as much as possible when out in public or at restaurants. Any threat needed. For my kids it's usually take the DS away or something like that. My 4yo loves to play some Pokemon on her DS. She will do whatever I tell her. lol. Nice that that other person left a note. I've never had notes, but have been given a great deal of compliments. Good enough for me. Thankfully for other people nobody has said anything to my kids. IT would be on like Donkey Kong. If they are acting up tell them when they get home they will be in time out. Go to their room for an hour or whatever. You just have to find the magic key. And you have to stick by your threats. If they continue you have to be able to follow through. Then they will "get it".

Man, I wish that would work with my kids. Even if I follow through on threats they just laugh and literally spit in my face. The goal is to make me angry because they know I'll feel sorry afterwards.

Did you ask her who she thought she was? "Hey, with the way you ride my ass I figured you thought you were the boss."

You've gotten some good advice. Don't be a door mat. Stick up for yourself with positive actions and when crap like that comes out of her mouth don't even give her the satisfaction of being provoked by it.

Sounds like she'd rather spite your ex then do something that makes financial sense. Not thinking with the brain and letting emotions run the show. That's a horrible way to deal with anything, but especially money.
