We had a 1 minute power outage this morning. When the power went back on an alarm went off downstairs. The alarm for the ejection pump I had repaired a couple of months ago went off. WTF? The pump is working fine. I think there might have been a power surge that damaged the alarm. I spent a little time this morning troubleshooting that. I will continue tonight. I went food shopping then went on a 5 mile, hilly power walk. I just came in from 2 hours of leaf cleanup in the back. Just the first wave of many I will be doing back there. Living backed up to conservation space is both a blessing and a curse.

Not much.
Cut the hull for the Bermuda Sloop off the balsa stick. Basic shape.
Cleaned up my mess from breakfast and lunch.
Put dinner in the crockpot.
Gave Pippa her Spelling test.
Washed and folded 2 loads laundry
(Since she started this new school program, she's an A-B student and she likes it. Plus we added the Thursday STEM Co-op with 80 kids. Lots of new friends.)
Gotta Pippa ready for Ballet class.-I Dunno she still got a mucousy cough like me.

Put on a happy face and try to hide that inside I just miserable. Trying to hide this rhinovirus/bronchitis thing. Funny I hear some kids hacking up lungs throughout the day. It's going around.
That's what I did today.

I finally bottled my last brew of the year, Holiday ale, for Christmas. Now to store it and forget it for the next few weeks. I'm not as pleased with it as I have been with previous incarnations.

On the other hand, Sam Addams' White Christmas tastes pretty nice.

I want to brew a nice citrus for the spring and maybe a tripel for the summer. Not too hoppy on either, though. It would seem that most of the kits/recipes lately have been just a bit too hoppy. IPA/hop craze I suppose.

So far...
I ordered a power supply for "the beast" the monster telescope. Got a Stanley 1000/500 amp jumpstarter JC509.
I also ordered a 5x Barlow lense. That's increasing the magnification of the lense you pop in by 5. I have a 10 mm and it will max out the ideal mag on the scope at 500x. But, anything smaller is ok. (I have other lenses.) It's good for lunar and planetary viewing. Not so good for deep space objects.
This morning at sunrise I viewed Venus at 0645 out the front window with my binoculars.

Cut the dogs nails.
Vacuumed downstairs.
Scrapped last boat hull cut off balsa strip. Too short? Cut off another.
Not much else waiting for the "I'm on my way home text"- so I can start dinner.

The belt came off the dryer this morning. Now fixed. Maybe a nap, now. I was up with my son at 2am. What's gotten into that kid?

Seasonal affective disorder perhaps? I know I'm feeling it.

Meanwhile, I'm trying to figure out how to wire a 24V relay to the blower motor on an 11 year old furnace with no apparent so that I can get my Aprilaire 500M up and running. My dad was an electrician, he did not pass the gift on.

Props to my wife for taking the initiative to rake leaves in the back yard this weekend. The front yard needs attention though. This tree was beautiful but all the leaves have fallen in the two days since I took this picture. Now they're all embedded in those bushes.
