Are the Orioles bad, Mark? lol. The Pittsburgh Pirates sure are. The GM is on the radio saying "computer models projected us to be a .500 team and here we are 20 games below that and are trying to identify the variable. That only tells me he is even crappier at computer games than running a football team.

The good news is that the NY Mets are on a TV station I still get at home. The bad news is that they are playing the Dodgers, who they beat last night. The reeeeealy bad news is that the game is on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball. I have said for years that these talking head ass hats that work for ESPN ruin games. Finally this season the local media has picked up on it and run articles every week about the bad game of the week. I should just turn the sound down. ESPN's sound effect of the bat hitting the bat sounds something out of a 1950's baseball movie. Sad. Lets go METS!

Somehow the Brew Crew is still in it. With no starting pitching and a plethora of injuries including a season ender to Yelich, all they've done the last two weeks is go 12-1.

Don't know how the hell they're doing it. But hope they keep it up. I know Kwak's Buccos are a raging dumpster fire having just given up 47 runs in 3 games to the Cubs, closers getting arrested for child porn, and Clint Hurdle looks like he could snap at any second. Yet they seem like just the team to come into Miller Park and rip off 3 in a row to effectively end the Brewers season.

If the Mets don't get in, which is highly likely, I hope the Brewers take the last spot over the Cubs.

I'm 39 years old, been a baseball fan my entire life, and the current run the Brewers are on is almost incomprehensible. Never seen anything like it. With a makeshift starting rotation and a bullpen that aside from Hader is filled with no name journey men and minor leaugers, all they've done is go 17-4 in September after losing the NL MVP for the season. They effectively clinched a spot in the Wild Card game, moving 4 games ahead of the Cubs, 4.5 ahead of the Mets, Phillies 6 back, with 6 to play. I'm a Phillies fan for the next 5 games. Brewers will be jockeying with the Nats to host the WC game next Tuesday night. Have my ticket - would sure like to go. Nats 1 up in the loss column and have played one less game than the Brewers. Nats and Phillies will be making that game up this week.

Three weeks ago I thought my dream of a Brewers/Twins World Series was dead. I know Rob Manfred would give his left nut for a Yankees/Dodgers WS and all the pomp and circumstance that would come with it. Highlights from the previous 11 WS matchups playing constantly. Player reunions on the field. The whole shabang! Two coastal heavyweights from the nation's two largest cities that used to play in the same town....A ratings bonanza!

Would love to see Manfred handing off the Commissioner's Trophy to Craig Counsell or Rocco Baldelli in a fricken snowstorm at Target Field with 2 million Wisconsin and Minnesota residents watching on Fox while the rest of the nation is watching reruns of So You Think You Can Dance. And then with a straight face have to say that parity is great for the game and he loves it that small markets can compete for and win the World Series.
