This is an old thread that i would like to open up again.

Spending time with my children is very important and you get to experience and share new activities as they get older. These are some of the things that I have already been lucky enough to share with my son and daughter and a list of the things to come that we will experience together as they get older:-

Surfing/bodyboarding with both children
Cooking and baking (daughter)
Bike Rides (both)
Snowboarding (both)
Watching our team at a Premier League Football Match (son)
Watching my son score a hatrick for his football team
Watching my daughter perform on stage
Went to a dance concert (daughter) (son was there as well but he was crying at the back with my wife while we having a boogie at the front!)

As they get older....

Teaching them to drive!
Rock Concert
Teaching them to kitesurf
Hopefully getting them involved in the family business
A pint down the pub

there must be so many more great times ahead, this has got me more excited about my role as a parent and I think I am going to write a goal list for more activities.

Please share some ideas of your own below so I can add them to my list!

This weekend I got to take my kids to their very first professional hockey game, and they had a blast. I think I enjoyed watching them more than the game. I also got to watch my oldest play in his first hockey game.

As they get older I hope to share some of my favorite books with them. I was (and still sort of am) a very avid reader so there’s several I’d love to experience with them. I did read ‘The Hobbit’ to my oldest, but at them time he didn’t get much of it, but he enjoyed the sitting with me and reading a chapter each night.

While I share the whole, having a pint with them at the pub one day, I’m certainly not in a hurry for that day to arrive!

The love of hands on history. Touch it, feel it. It happened here.

Joey and I shared the love of bowling and video games, particularly Minecraft. He seems to share an innate interest in music (he plays trumpet in school and likes to work out songs on the piano but OTOH he thinks my interest in guitars is just nonsensical.)

I've spent more time quantitatively with Justin but pretty much he just loves to go cruising and listening to the radio while I drive aimlessly.
