Default Memphis Area

My wife and I will soon be relocaing to the Memphis area for her career. I will be giving up my practice (architecture). I have been a part-time SAHD for four years now. I know I will need some friends and like minded support on the flip side when we get there. Mommy groups usually treat us like perverts so Im hoping there are some dads in Memphis who already have a group....any body?

Good luck with the move. Memphis is pretty. How cool would a play date be at Graceland! Over to Bo Diddly's for some lunch then off to the Peabody hotel to watch the ducks walk off to their beds.

Good luck man. Sounds like you could be making some nice cake too. Glad you choosing to make a decision based on your family and kids.

jcole, I realize you posted this some time ago, but the "treats us like perverts" but resonates. I am also transplanted from Dallas to Memphis, to Germantown. My 3yo loves going out to the park or to be around other kids, but the moms will actually pack up their kids and picnics when we get there and walk over to the park on the other side of the pond.

If you are still doing the SAHD thing and want to get out with another perv such as yourself, give me a shout.

Good luck hunting him down Sharpie. One other option you may try is sending him a PM. Depending on how he set up the account he may not know you responded to this thread, but if you PM him he may get an email. Not sure. I don't get emails from anything on here. Have fun in Memphis.

Default Another SAHD in Memphis?

Cool, so glad to hear from you Sharp!

I am still here. Three months in Memphis, we live in C'ville actually. I have a six year old (first grade) and a three year old boy at home.

Funny, folks here thing that Stay at Home Dad means unemployed. I guess a sign of the times/economy. Play date with the kids would be great.
