I am not one either. Places that do that have to because people will only eat there if they get more calories for the buck. Like Silvio said, you ain't stopping at one plate. And you pay for it for a couple of days. I went to a Chinese buffet a few years ago and finished off the white rice in a steamer. A young kid walked up to me and when he saw no more white rice he said "RATS"! I told him " three trays to the left son".

Thank you. He's here all night!

Unfortunately.

I was scarred two decades ago when my in-laws took me to a very nice place with a buffet and an old man was filling up with a plate in each hand, was walking back to his table, and let out a *very* bad sneeze. He was far away from his table, didn't have a free hand to.... ugh I couldn't eat for two days. And sadly, I can see it in my mind like it happened yesterday.

So, I stay away from the public troughs. Too many filthy people around. The same can be said for cooks in nice restaurants, I'm sure, but the door is closed so I can preserve the illusion.

Why? Cause there's no one there for him to argue with?

My two bowls of Cheerios and a can of Mountain Dew sounds pretty pathetic. Of course my head wasn't screwed on straight after a night with a sick baby.

At least for dinner I had a couple sloppy Joes and a big bowl of collard greens. Time to crack open the case of beer I bought today

canned tuna sandwich w/ lite mayo and sliced pickles on toasted whole wheat bread. One of my favorites since I was a kid.

Nah, just kidding -- I've got leftover flank steak and rice today.

Whole wheat pasta with peas, diced smoked turkey and a little bit of marinara mixed in.

Ha, I'm just about to make the same thing -- pickle on the side, though. Scary...
