Kiddos on the bus, wife out the door and ran to Wally World. Not my usual place to shop but needed a couple things for the kids lunch boxes. Made baked Ziti and put in the fridge for tonight. Walked down to the beach and paddle boarded for 45 mins or so. Has lots of momentum going then I sat down on the computer and have been playing catch up on here for the last 30 mins or so.

I call them Pawdecures. I take my two mutts to Petsmart and have the pros do it. $25 tip included and they are both done. No appointment needed! I clipped my old dog too short once and it was a bloody mess.

Spent a bunch of time digging around in the basement and garage pulling things out for a garage sale tomorrow. Lots of houses on our road got together to do a bunch of garage sales on the same day in hopes of drawing more people for them. We've got a ton of stuff that I'd be happy to get rid of and I'm willing to make a deal!

Good luck with the sale. If nobody on your block has not already done so you should post a free ad about the garage sale on Craigslist. I guarantee you if you state that it starts at 9:00 AM people will be there by 8:30.

You guys inspire me. My basement and garage are filled with useless stuff that could fund more stuff thatís slightly less useless! I still have our old bedroom furniture and some old nursery furniture in various places (like the garage though the bed is still upstairs) and it needs to GO. A lot of it needs new hardware and refinishing but still mostly intact. I just donít know what to ask for it. I certainly donít want to give it away!

Kwak, having moved a number of times and not having everything work from one home to another I have come to learn that used furniture, even in very good condition, doesn't fetch that much. Maybe a quarter of what you paid for it. I am not talking about collectable or antique furniture.

Cruise Craigslist for similar items to maybe get a feel for prices. Maybe even cruise a consignment shop for pricing. Remember, consignment shops split the money made 50-50 with the owner of the item.

The neighbor organizing it put it on Craigslist, and a few other places. I took the boys to soccer practice, but the wife told me there was a good crowd of people most of the day. Didn't get rid of nearly as much as I would have liked, but still, a bunch of stuff gone, and hey, I got some beer money.

Of course now sometime this week I have to put all the stuff away that's just piled inside the garage. At least I can put things away in some semblance of an order instead of the chaos it had been.

I hear ya. I was actually hoping to give it to my mother, but she'd rather buy something that smells old.

FWIW we just bought a new kitchen table off a Facebook listing for $300. It seems solid enough but now I have to get rid of our old kitchen table and chairs.

Don't forget about donating your stuff, guys. There's lots of charities that would take gently used things. Look past Goodwill to your church, shelter, or other local charity. They're hurting because of the change in the tax laws.
