When does dad stop getting sick?

1.5 yr old is in day care while mommy is at her fulltime job. 3.5 yr old has daycare once or twice a week and play group twice a week.

They're almost always snotty, bringing home germs, getting me sick.

I was rally sick for thanksgiving, ok through December, sick mid January, ok Febb, sick again now. Wtf? When does it stop?

I'm not sure if you are into Lysol wipes and things like that, but they can help in cutting down the germs, by wiping the doorknobs, light switches etc. Since I have lots of little people traffic coming in and out of our house for lessons, I use those a fair bit and it seems to help.

We take the don't sanitize anything strategy. It was definitely when the kids were older than yours, but at some point we stopped getting the colds at least, and maybe one flu like thing a year. Whether it was exposure to a lot of stuff to let our system build immunity, I don't know. But you don't see nurses in doctors offices getting the stuff( at least our friend who's one doesn't), I have to think it's built immunity. No sick days for our kids for a few years now.

So you're just working on building that up. So helpful, aren't I, when you feel like $hit.

WE don't use the don't sanitize anything route but certainly are not germaphobes. We are hardly sick and if we are it usually passes quickly. There were several wicked stomach bugs going around in the schools this year. Not one in the Mark B. homestead. This has always been the case since toddlers till today.

Yes, I think a person can go nuts with sanitizing everything - to the extreme. However, on the occasion I don't have an issue with it, especially when I have a student who comes and is coughing and spewing the whole time, but yet they were too sick to go to school. WTF??? That is when I usually bring the lysol wipes out and will clean the keys on the piano so the next student isn't playing and slipping in the previous student's snot. LOL!!! If I get sick and cancel I don't get paid and then have to reschedule the lessons - it gets hard to reschedule days or a week of lessons. I do say to parents, if your child is too sick to go to school, then keep them home for their lesson and I can make it up later - it's easier to make up one lesson than a week's worth of lessons. Not to say that my son and wife do not bring lots of goodies home from school.

In the same boat. The soon to be 4 year old got sick - passed it to the 3 month old who passed it to the wife who passed it to me... Rinse,cycle,repeat - soon to be four year old now coughing again just as I start to feel better.

And as I type this the 3 month old just started coughing in his crib...

Figures, my wife leaves Sunday for a week long gig... Just in time to escape!

Thank god for beer... And college hoops - me and the 3 mo. Old are going to grind out some hoops on Thursday and Friday!

It does suck!Little one is sick with ear infections again!
My wife deals with sick people on a daily basis and is in constant contact with germs and can't help but bring em home..
Pretty sure she is immune to most of them now but we are not!
