Brew Crew trades for Christian Yelich and sign Lorenzo Cain. Nice! Creates log jam in the outfield. Speculation that Braun moves to first base. Wouldn't mind seeing a trade that sends perhaps Eric Thames and Keon Broxton or Brett Phillips to the Rays for Chris Archer. Braun plays first with an outfield of Santana, Cain, and Yelich. Shaw at 3rd and Villar hopefully a bounceback year at 2nd. Now you're competing with the Cards and Cubs!

Glad I got to Wrigley last summer before they drastically changed the place. Aside from the video boards and a few new seats where the bullpens used to be it was pretty much the same old dump. I didn't realize how far they were going to go with renovations but they demolished most of the lower grandstand. At which point I say, why not just build brand new? "But all the history!" What history? They won 1 title in that building and that came 2 years ago. I've always said, if they can tear down The House That Ruth Built, they can tear down Wrigley Field.

Here's a look at what's been torn down and what they have planned:

Well it is Opening day for my New York Mets and the season seems to be picking right up where it left off last season with bad news almost daily. Former Mets great and fan favorite, Rusty Staub, passed away at the age of 73. That should cast a nice pall on what usually is a fun day of new beginnings. R.I.P Le Grande Orange!

Saw the thing about Rusty. RIP.

I'll be following the Mets a bit this year. Ended up with their entire starting outfield on my fantasy team. And Conforto is already hurt. Same old Mets?

I'm cautiously optimistic about the Brew Crew. Lineup should really be one of the better ones in the league. Shutdown bullpen if Hader and Knebel perform anywhere close to what they did last year. Starting pitching is the big question mark. I'll be going on Tuesday night against the Cards.

Conforto is still recovering from a shoulder dislocation that happened last season. He blew it our swinging. Yikes. He should be back soon.

My cousin was at the game in the second deck and he said he could hear Conforto scream in pain.

If MLB pulls more stunts like this to their fans I don't care if that CNN story comes to fruition.
