I've got a nice multi-trap that they pile into then I drop it in a bucket.
This one.
Reusable, kids can't get hurt by it. Sinks in a big bucket of water...

Where I see activity. Outside by the door has been profitable. Garage by the man door, in the basement by the dog food (haven't trapped any there in a long time so I must be doing something right.)

Mark, the kids wouldn't go in the pool if I did that. :P

I don't announce it trust me. I just dump the corpse by a conservation 4x4 pole in my yard and wait for a local fox to come by and enjoy. Works every time.

Mouse on the sticky trap last week, another today. See the neighbor with his garage door open ALL day when the weather is nice. I told my wife about the "mouse hotel" for $13. She agrees but hasn't pulled the trigger yet.

Local fox ate two of my chickens last Friday. I'm fixin' on getting a fox tail for my antenna.

Finding more mouse poo.
Did another sweep out of the garage. Moving the big shelves, pulling out the workbench. No nest.
Got on my knees and noticed a bunch, and I mean a bunch of poo under my Xterra that we start once a month since the doc and took away my drivers liscence, because I'm medically not safe.
Under the hood- poo everywhere. All the plastic is wet like a radiator leak (and it reaks).
Convinced my wife NOW is the time to go to Home Depot and get traps. (30 min drive) and hit every pothole you can!
Couldn't find the mouse hotel. Got some "tomcats" that you bait. And toss when full.
She says I'm Psycho about the mice. They shitting and pissing all over our stuff!!!! (I put mine away).
How long before they find their wAy inside the house? I ask her.

Sweep the floors in your pantry and make sure that no food is on the floor. That is what draws them in - but really, I only worry about that in the winter. In the summer they can get all the food they need outside, unless youre inviting them in by letting crumbs collect in the kitchen.

Seriously, Id be more worried about raccoons and bears being attracted to your trash than mice in the kitchen.

Get them traps, I'm tellin' ya! Throw some corn, or heck tomcat bait blocks so they die where you can find them in there! Open it up dump it out and repeat.

Mice get in our shed all the time, drives me nuts in the spring to find where they shat all over.
