Schwinn Meridian. Itís comes in a 1,3 or 7 speed with 24Ē or 26Ē tires. I donít know what the weight limit is but the Amazon reviews show a 400 pound guy on it. His only complaint is that the seat post wonít stay up and heís getting a bigger one. Even if you do t take to it, if either of your kids canít ride two wheels they can grow into it. FWIW I know a guy with an autistic 14yo who rides something similar.

Thereís also recumbent bikes which are really low to the ground. Iíve seen a few of those on my local paved walking trails. That might be more to your liking.
